Lifespan Integration Therapy
(L I )
Lifespan Integration therapy is a gentle, effective and powerful approach to addressing unresolved memories and experiences throughout life, promoting emotional regulation and overall well-being.
LI therapy is particularly effective for:
-
Trauma and PTSD, including childhood trauma and attachment injuries.
-
Emotional regulation, reducing anxiety, depression and mood swings.
-
Attachment and relationship issues, improving trust and intimacy.
-
Low self-esteem and lack of confidence, by healing underlying emotional wounds.
-
Dealing with intrusive memories, flashbacks and grief.
-
Improving overall mental health and strengthening emotional resilience.
By integrating past experiences, ICV therapy helps to understand and heal emotional wounds, leading to increased well-being and an ability to overcome life's challenges with greater strength and clarity.

How does it work?
Lifespan Integration (LI) therapy is based on what is called a "timeline," which is a chronological list of the person’s life memories (positive, negative, or neutral).
When a difficult event is not fully processed or "digested," the person may intellectually know that it has passed, but part of them remains stuck at that point in their history. Simply talking about the past event doesn’t always lead to full integration; the timeline helps place the event in its proper time, allowing the person to feel that the event is over in the present.
It is the repetition of the timeline, in a safe space with an attuned therapist, that facilitates neural integration. Each memory is connected to a network of neurons. The repeated reading of the timeline strengthens the connection between these neurons, creating a sense of continuity and coherence, and helping the person place the past where it belongs.
During Lifespan Integration work, the client is not required to speak in detail about their experiences; just a few words are enough to place the events in time.
