Julia Macfarlane

About me

Originally from England, I now hold dual British-French nationality. My professional journey began as a textile designer in the furniture industry, before I transitioned to the automotive sector. A role with a manufacturer then brought me to France in 2006. My experience in these industries has been both stimulating and enriching, and has also provided me with a deep understanding of the stress related to the professional environment, whether caused by deadlines, financial targets, or interpersonal relationships.

A turning point in my life occurred when, going through a difficult period, I sought help from a Gestalt therapist. This work helped me gain a deeper understanding of who I am, become more aware of my emotions, body, and needs, and identify the behaviours that were creating difficulties. One question my therapist asked particularly stood out: "What do you want here and now? What do you love?" This awareness led me to train as a Gestalt therapist, driven by a desire to better understand others and the dynamics of relationships.
